Actueel IC Handboek
Cover Actueel IC Handboek In het pre-internet tijdperk had iedere zichzelf respecterende elektronicus een boekenkast vol databoeken van wel twintig IC-fabrikanten. Nicky Moeken van Uitgeverij Weka BV (Amsterdam) bedacht een alternatief. Eén losbladig handboek waarin alle IC’s van alle bekende fabrikanten functiegericht besproken zouden worden. Natuurlijk moest die typebeschrijving worden aangevuld met achtergrond-informatie over de werking van de IC’s en voorbeeldschakelingen. Dat handboek zou regelmatig worden uitgebreid met aanvullingen waarvan de losse pagina’s door de abonnees zélf moesten worden ingevoegd in de juiste hoofdstukken van het handboek.
Aan Jos Verstraten, freelance publicist, werd de opdracht gegund het ‘format’ voor dit boek uit te werken.In 1986 verscheen het 500 pagina’s dikke basiswerk van dit ‘Actueel I.C.-Handboek’ met als ondertitel ‘Een systematisch opbouwwerk met een overzicht van de belangrijkste I.C.’s, hun kenmerken en aansluitingen’. Als auteurs werden aangetrokken Bob van Duuren, die het digitale deel voor zijn rekening nam en Jos Verstraten die zich ontfermde over het analoge deel en eindredacteur werd. Er verschenen 86 aanvullingen tot in 2002 Uitgeverij Weka BV werd gereorganiseerd tot WEKA Business Publishers BV en er geen plaats meer was voor dergelijke specialistische boeken.
Inhoud van het naslagwerk
Het ‘Actueel I.C.-Handboek’ bevat tweeëntwintig delen die ieder één bepaald soort IC behandelen. Ieder deel wordt geopend met een hoofdstuk ‘Achtergrond-informatie’ waarin de werking van het betreffende soort IC’s wordt uitgelegd. Nadien volgen hoofdstukken waarin de betreffende IC’s in de diverse technologieën worden besproken.
